Brand Strategy

The ALNF is a national charity dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia. With a particular focus on Indigenous, refugee and marginalised Australians, the concept of literacy goes beyond the classic reading, writing and arithmetic, to encompass cultural literacy, community expression and connection to Country.

We were tasked with telling the ‘literacy is freedom’ story in a simple, clear and inclusive way, resonating with communities, stakeholders and donors.

Working with the ALNF team, we honed a vision, mission, purpose and hero messages that communicated the breadth of their work, and its impact, for multiple audiences.

It all came together in this brand film, with iconic typography from Kris Andrew Small .

The brand film

The work was showcased at 2022’s Semi-Permanent festival, where a full scale installation took up one of the bays at Sydney’s Carriageworks.
